“Offload is a fantastic resource for both clients and therapists. The world of CBT has been lacking an app which enables the sharing of CBT worksheets and homework tasks between clients and therapists, but Offload completely does this, making the service we offer more professional and the benefits to clients greater.”

Frequently asked questions

What does SMART stand for?

Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. A SMART goal says exactly what you will do, how you will know it is done, whether it is realistic, why it matters to you and by when. The framework turns intentions like get fitter into plans like walk for twenty minutes three times a week for the next month.

Why do vague goals fail?

Because there is nothing to act on. I want to be more organised gives you no starting point and no way to tell whether you are getting there, so motivation drains away. SMART goals remove that ambiguity, which is why they are used in CBT, coaching and behavioural activation.

What if I do not achieve the goal?

Treat it as information rather than failure. Usually the goal was too big, the timescale too short or an obstacle was not planned for. The worksheet asks about obstacles in advance for exactly this reason. Adjust and set the next one; each attempt teaches you how to plan better.

Can my therapist assign this worksheet?

Yes. Therapists on Offload can assign Build a SMART Goal once you have identified what you want to change, then review the completed goal and agree the first step in session. Your responses are available for them to review beforehand. Fully HIPAA and GDPR compliant.
