“Offload is a fantastic resource for both clients and therapists. The world of CBT has been lacking an app which enables the sharing of CBT worksheets and homework tasks between clients and therapists, but Offload completely does this, making the service we offer more professional and the benefits to clients greater.”
Frequently asked questions
What is the LSAS-SR?
The LSAS-SR (Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale, self-report) is one of the most widely used social anxiety questionnaires. It presents a range of social and performance situations and asks how much fear you feel in each and how often you avoid them, building a detailed picture of how social anxiety affects your life.
Does this test diagnose social anxiety disorder?
No. It is a screening and severity measure, not a diagnosis. An elevated score suggests your experiences are consistent with social anxiety and worth discussing with a GP or mental health professional, who can assess you properly and talk through treatment options.
How is social anxiety different from shyness?
Shyness is a personality trait and usually manageable. Social anxiety involves intense fear of being judged, embarrassed or rejected, strong enough to cause distress or make you avoid situations that matter to you, such as work, study or relationships. The distinction is about impact, not personality.
What helps with social anxiety?
CBT is the treatment recommended by NICE for social anxiety disorder, and it works by gradually testing anxious predictions and reducing avoidance. Offload includes CBT-based tools and courses for social anxiety you can use on your own or alongside a therapist.
